The latest Fuse data enables us to comparemonthly hours per MAU spent onSpotify and monthly hours per subscriber spent on Netflix over 2017. Interestingly they are travelling in opposite directions. Spotify & Netflix's Monthly Hours Of Engagement per MAU/Subscriber While Spotify’s monthly content hours per MAU increased from 19 to 25 in 2017, Netflix’s average monthly hours per subscriber decreased from 50 to 39.

Netflix Is Now A Truly International Player

In light of MIDiA Research ’s Q4 2017 Brand tracker survey data, which revealed that Netflix penetration in the US has reached 49%, Netflix has to look outside the US for future growth. Why is international growth imperative for Netflix? Although a 6% surge in its international subscribers may appear modest, when overall YoY international subscriber growth rate is taken into account, this increase has been spectacular indeed.

Comcast Feels The Heat As Wall Street Shows Its Concerns Over Cord-Cutting
