Senior Video Analyst

The Senior Video Analyst will be based in our London office, reporting directly to the co-founder. The analyst will focus on MIDiA’s pay-TV coverage within the video analyst team, covering topics such as TV Everywhere (TVE), competing with streaming services, subscriber trends, sports and content acquisition.

You will be an experienced industry analyst with a track record of delivering high quality research, consulting and maintaining high level relationships at TV companies across multiple countries. We want you to help our TV industry clients prosper in the streaming era by identifying the opportunities and risks presented by digital business models and services.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead MIDiA’s pay-TV research, analysis and consulting sector, including writing regular reports, conducting research, creating datasets and writing frequent blog posts
  • Deliver a robust and cohesive programme of research, analysis and data for TV and streaming video companies that dovetails with MIDiA’s streaming company focused research
  • Help our TV industry clients manage the transition to streaming business models and help our streaming clients forge strong, mutually beneficial partnerships with them
  • Enhance MIDiA’s thought leadership in the pay-TV marketplace
  • Present to clients, speak at conferences, conduct media interviews
  • Support the sales team by identifying consulting and research sales opportunities at TV companies
  • Lead research planning and content editing for members of the analyst team

About You

Global Account Executive

We are looking for a customer obsessed individual to be MIDiA’s Global Account Executive based in our London office, reporting directly to the Co-Founder. The role will combine lead generation, account management, winning of new business and sales and diary administration.


  • Identify and create leads for our cloud data tool, and specific research coverage areas
  • Convert prospects into clients in the above coverage areas
  • Conduct face to face customer meetings to provide support, discuss current issues, provide updates, discuss current and future business and build strong relationships
  • Build client relationships, exploring and identify all opportunities where MIDiA could provide efficient solutions to new or existing customers
  • Establish MIDiA as a trusted advisor to each account
  • Develop and execute strategies to maximize MIDiA sales and profit at the account
  • Understanding the customer‘s business strategy, opportunities and issues
  • Work with the Global Account Manager in successfully executing sales and relationship strategies and tactics
  • Manage the diaries for MIDiA analysts for booking sales meetings etc
  • Contribute to office management duties
  • Represent and convey customer needs internally at MIDiA, and ensure adequate priorities are set in order to execute against their needs
  • Gather and communicate market/competitor information into the MIDiA organization

Lead Developer

We are looking for a Lead Developer with experience of the whole stack to drive the development of our exciting next generation data analysis tools. You will work closely with the company founders and the analyst team to migrate and refine our existing products as we move towards developing 100% of our offering in house, as well as be responsible for leading the development of our future offerings.

You will have sole responsibility for end-to-end product development, including leading ideation sessions with internal stakeholders, defining scope, building wireframes, building designs (in collaboration with external designers and agencies) through to transforming these into live products.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the end-to-end functionality of MIDiA’s products and services
  • Maintain, iterate and expand our data and research products including leading code audits on existing products and carrying out adjustments as necessary
  • Lead the technical design and build of new database functionality
  • Monitor, maintain and continually improve our data integration and ingestion capabilities
  • Ensure solid functionality and user experience of midiaresearch.com and all its services
  • Build and maintain processes for documentation, integration testing and continuous deployment
  • Manage an ad hoc team of external developers as and when required to support your development work
  • Be the technical liaison for MIDiA with select 3rd party agencies for design, development and data capture
  • Work directly with MIDiA’s Head of Product to identify technology solutions to the needs of MIDiA’s business and of its clients

Technical Requirements

  • PHP, we’re using Laravel as the core framework for most of our work.
  • Proven grasp of front end technology including React, CSS3 and HTML
  • SQL (MySQL or Postgres) and an understanding of structured and unstructured data sets
  • Experience designing, maintaining and optimizing databases or data management beyond SQL in a production/data intensive environment
  • Experience with package managers such as Composer, NPM, Yarn or Gulp
  • Experience of Elasticsearch and proven use in at least one production project
  • Proven DevOps and either cloud/hosted server management experience
  • Experience working with, reviewing and refining inherited code

Serious Bonus Points for…

  • Experience working with GraphQL
  • Experience with B2B UX of marketing/insight tools

  • Technically proficient with a solid background of building product from the ground up, with a GitHub account that proves it
  • A strong problem solver, pro-active, hands-on attitude
  • Love data, and what stories it can tell.
  • Great at scoping and timing projects. You hit deadlines often, but you also know early on if a timeframe is too tight to work with and you’re open about that.
  • Collaboration drives you. You’re as keen on the product direction as you are on the technical architecture.
